Join me in helping to build the next great zoo! This is an exciting time for our region and an opportunity to be part of something that we can all enjoy with great pride for helping to make a state-of-the-art zoo a reality for the animals and for generations of zoo-goers! As a proud former Sacramento Zoo Trustee, I understand and support the need for a new zoo. The Sacramento Zoo is nearly 100 years-old, with much of its infrastructure and many of its animal habitats dating back 60 to 100 years. Due to aging facilities that prohibit long-term sustainability, a landlocked 14.7-acre footprint with no option for the necessary expansion needed to maintain a viable zoo, and the need to provide animals of all species and sizes with more room and more modern accommodations, the zoo is not able to remain in Land Park and a new, modern, and much larger zoological park is imperative.
